For the above hotels, the discounted room rates are held up until 8 weeks prior to the conference. There are plenty of hotels near the conference venue.  Below is a map of nearby hotels.  Bob recommends staying in the city center and then taking the 10 minute tram to the conference venue or walking to the conference venue through the beautiful and picturesque Park Estate (about 30 minutes walk).  There are a few hotels that are a short 15 minute walk.  The conference venue web page has more information about getting to the conference venue.
